They are looking for an impressive Chief Financial and Risk Officer to ensure the provision of risk insights and integrated financial intelligence within the division and overall business performance of the division. Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates.



Qualification:

CA (SA)

MBA

10 years post qualification experience in a Financial Services or Insurance environment



Skills & Experience:

At least 3 years in a Senior Management position

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Risk Management Principles

Knowledge of the Financial Services and Insurance Industry, and applicable regulatory requirements and legislation



Job Description:

Effectively take ownership of delivery of the Finance transformation project to ensure clear integration of divisions.

Proactively engage in understanding causal link between business drivers and financial outcomes.

Proactively engage and partner with group finance for planning purposes to ensure the performance leavers and metrics identified are appropriate to ensuring overall division performance in line with group targets.

Ensure effective expense management by applying group and internal division principles to reset the expense base.

Identify expense savings and opportunities to reset expense base.

Ensure that the division aligns to the overall group budgeting cycle.

Enable the business with the relevant insights around budget variances and projected budget totals compared to actuarial operating budget totals.

Ensure effective financial controls are implemented to protect the group from financial losses.

Ensure leader led change management within area, through high levels of energy flow between employees and leaders.

Provide Coaching and Mentorship to direct reports.

Ensure the development of your teams to enable collaboration, teamwork and shared accountability.

Improve talent management efficiency across group finance.

Intentionally create a transformed working environment that enables the delivery on the Group EE Plan / intentionally. Identify and develop talent for fast tracking and advancement in support of addressing the gaps in the EE Plan.

Manage budget and implement sound financial controls.
