A great opportunity exists for a Chief Financial Officer within a company that will stimulate your mind with constant challenges within a highly pressurized environment. This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. As the CFO you will be responsible for the conceptualisation, development and implementation of the financial strategy, governance framework and the financial management system.
Qualification:
Formal Qualification/Degree
CA (SA)
MBA or Commercial Degree will be an added advantage
Skills & Experience:
Experience on Board of Sub-Committee of Board level
10 – 15 years’ experience of which at least 5 years at a Senior / Executive level

Job Description:
Develop and implement sound financial policy and practices that is aligned to company strategy, stakeholder needs and expectations; legislative requirements; industry trends and that ensure long-term business viability.
Develop annual budgets in line with operating plans, present to Board and ExCo and obtain approval.
Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO, ExCo and the Board and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
Manage cash flow and forecasting. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
Establish and maintain the highest ethical standard in financial practices, including compliance with all statutory requirements.
Design and maintain internal controls and co-ordinate all audit activities.
Identify growth issues and highlight risks regarding acquisitions, spin offs, expansion, downsizing, establishing new, and/or closing existing branches and stores.
Develop fund raising strategies with the board and supports the board in fund raising initiatives.
Ensure the identification and management of financial risk through continuous internal and external monitoring by implementing governance systems in line with future requirements, i.e. policies, procedures and reporting structures.
Facilitate and maintain effective stakeholder and business relationships through appropriate relationship building and networking.
Ensure accurate and timeous financial reporting (Monthly reports, ad hoc, ExCo, Board reports).
