The CFO is responsible for all finance tasks relating to financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, analysis and compliance with local regulations and group policies for all ROAM companies. Equally important, at ROAM, Finance has a seat at the decision table. This requires active decision support for our businesses.

THE ROLE:
The CFO will work closely with the CEO and be a sparring partner to him and others in the management team and be responsible for assessing the financial impact of operational decisions, as well as proactively driving finance strategy and leading the local and central Finance teams. It is a very important and rich role.

The CFO must be well-versed in all aspects of financial management ranging from accounting and consolidation to transfer pricing to FX risk.

Specific responsibilities include:

Management and supervision and development of the finance team; Establish a reliable and efficient month and year end close process including the consolidation of all entities;

Ensuring the correct and timely preparation of monthly financial reports in compliance with group accounting standards; Compliance with local tax and accounting regulations including transfer pricing;

Performing risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities, asset valuation (including debtors’ ledger), exposure to FX, etc.

Managing liquidity and cash flows and providing the required reporting to the board and shareholders Driving the company’s financial planning including preparing budgets, forecasts and other analysis required on a per entity basis;

Supporting business decision making by providing insights and decision making support.

Key Requirement:

Proven (minimum 5 years) technical experience as CFO, Finance Director or Financial Controller ideally in a fast growing, internationally active entity;

Exposure to technology and media business, and robust understanding of business

Experience working in Africa or other developing countries

Ability to strategize and solve problems

Strong team player, strong leadership and organizational skills

Excellent communication and people skills

An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers

CPA, ACCA or equivalent is a strong advantage BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field;

MSc/MBA is a plus Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software

Experience rolling out and setting up ERP systems a plus

Experience in setting up shared services centres a plus
