An international mining company based in Johannesburg is in search of a Chief Internal Auditor. This individual will be working closely with the Head of Internal Audit.


Within the internal audit department, this candidate will have to be responsible for the:
• auditing systems, resources, processes and audit methodology
• Provide the required assurances to the Audit Committee with regards to Risk Management, Internal Control and Corporate Governance by managing, executing and planning on the various assignments within the Annual Audit Plan
Other duties include:
• To manage and assemble the budget for all the internal audit activities
• Have to assist Management with regards to the justifying and reporting on the high risk areas
• Need to supervise, manage and develop the performances of sub-ordinates
• Need to manage day to day activities of the Internal Audit Department
• Make recommendations on developments that relates to internal audit, risk management and governance
• Develop an internal audit plan
• Give critical advice on internal controls, financial information and operating risk exposure
• This candidate will have to travel internationally as well as locally. And needs to have an understanding about how the internal audit will fit into the company’s environment
