Chief Mine Safety Officer, Gauteng – Phalaborwa
Salary: R 480 000 - R 650 000 cost to company P/A+ Company housing
Required:
• National Diploma – Safety/ Risk Management
• Blasting Certificate/ Engineering trade (Advantageous)
• COMSOC I & II
• SAMTRAC
• OSHAS 18 001 Lead Auditors course
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Risk Assessment Techniques: (SWIFT, HAZOP and FMECA)
• AFRAD (Accredited Facilitators Risk Assessment Diploma)
• ITIS/Train the Trainer
• Accident investigation (ICAM/RCAT/SCAT/Causation Model)
• Auditors courses for Safety and Risk Control management
• Valid drivers license and car
• First Aid
• Minimum of 3 Years relevant Mining / Process / Engineering/ experience as a Safety Officer
• Minimum of 6 years mining experience
• Management of Safety department
• Management of safety budget
• Ensure legal compliance
• Prepare DMR presentations and reporting
• Compliance to legal reports as per Chapter 23 of MHSA
• Identify critical areas
• Ensure that all critical areas are inspected as required by MHSA
• Liaise with DMR inspectors during their visit
• Report/ communicate leading indicators to senior management
• Maintain safety statistical history on the mine
• Prepare safety presentation for management meetings
