A top mining house based in the North West is seeking a Chief Mine Surveyor. Applicants will be required to have a Mine Surveyor's Certificate of Competency for appointment under regulation 17.2 of the MHSA, as well as a relevant tertiary qualification in surveying, mine surveying or mineral resource management (degree). Candidates will also need to be registered with PLATO as a Mine Surveyor or Professional Mine Surveyor. A postgraduate management qualification (e.g. MDP/PME) would be advantageous . A total of 7 year's post-qualification experience in the mining environment of which 3 years should be in a supervisory / management role is essential. He/she will need to ensure the accurate surveying and reconciliation of all mining related operations as well as making sure the production surveys meet short term production planning needs to achieve the mine's targets. You will be responsible for constructing and maintaining mining production survey plans and statutory plans as well as conduct construction and civil surveying, as required.
