Our client, a specialized business unit within the agricultural sector based in Stellenbosch has a vacancy for a Chief Technology Officer to join their highly skilled and cutting-edge team.

The position entails providing sound technical leadership in all aspects of the business. The ideal candidate must be strategic thinking with a strong business acumen, well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with a variety of business concepts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop the company’s strategy for using technological resources
• Ensure efficient, functional, profitable and secure use of technologies & system infrastructure
• Evaluate and implement new systems and infrastructure
• Develop strategic technical aspects to ensure alignment with business goals
• Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage
• Build quality assurance and data protection processes
• Monitor KPIs and IT budgets
• Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments
• Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors
• Identify and source suitable resource requirements to build and develop a suitable technology team

REQUIREMENTS:

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus
• Experience and understanding of the agricultural industry will be a bonus
• Proven experience as a CTO or similar leadership role
• Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy
• Understanding of budgets and business-planning
• Ability to conduct technological analyses and research
