Main duties and responsibilities:
Our Client is looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to develop policies and procedures for the creation and maintenance of technology within the organization to enhance products and services that focus on external customers. The CTO will ultimately be responsible for the creation and implementation of strategies and systems that will keep the organization competitive and ahead of the game in a fast-changing global marketplace.

• Navigate the technology direction of the company, ensuring compliance to best practice in terms of both the technology we employ and the technology we create
• Develop strategies to decrease cost and increase revenue; performing both cost-benefit analysis beforehand and return on investment analysis after deployment.
• Ensure compliant, quality products are brought to market as soon as possible
• Manage the integrity of the suite of systems, ensuring compliance to relevant standards and regulations, including ISO 13485 and POPI
• Manage the research and development of new hardware and software products
• Examine both the short and long term goals of the organization and ensure the pipeline is effectively managed
• Draw up budget needs in terms of business technology and expansion requirements, reporting and tracking such throughout the financial year
• Take overall responsibility for the copyright and intellectual property of the organization
• Head up the compliance committee, ensuring effectiveness and robustness of company procedures
• Manage the mobile, front and back end development team of engineers and developers

Education and/or work experience requirements:
• 3-5 years experience in a CTO/CIO or other relevant role
• A relevant degree in Engineering or Information Technology
• Extensive full stack development experience
• Experience in compliance to relevant data protection regulations (POPI, HIPAA and GDPR)
• Experience in compliance to ISO development standards, would be beneficial
• Excellent administration and organizational skills
• Be innovative, persuasive and have good networking skills
