The CTO’s role is to provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing an
information technology strategy that aligns itself with the business strategy and objectives.

Minimum Requirements:
Relevant degree or diploma in IT Development or Computer Science
Master’s Degree in Business Administration will be highly advantageous
Certificate in Project Management will be beneficial

Experience:
Minimum of 10 years IT experience in software development (skills matrix to be provided)
Minimum of 5 years Senior Management experience overseeing the overall IT Division including both
Development and Technical Support with at least 10-20 staff

Duties:
1. Strategic Planning:
1.1 Formulate, execute and control an Information Management strategy in alignment with strategic direction of the business in consultation with Senior Management
1.2 Establish IT departmental goals, objectives and operating procedures
1.3 Manage the overall IT Division, including both the Development and Technical teams by planning and organising the activities of these teams to ensure optimal IT support to the business.
1.4 Contribute at a strategic level in senior management meetings

2. Software Development Management
2.1 Manage and direct the development and deployment of new applications, systems software and/or enhancements to existing applications
2.2 Tracking, reporting and communicating the development team’s progress on various projects to Senior Management
2.3 Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to improves systems and processes
2.4 Drive innovative technical solutions in line with existing and future technologies
2.5 Drive continuous improvement in quality of code, architecture and processes within the development team
3. IT Governance
3.1 Provide guidance and execution of IT governance, risk management, security management and compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks using policies and best practices.
3.2 Ensure confidentiality and reliability of intellectual property

4. Technical Support Management/IT Architecture
4.1 Develop and maintain an IT infrastructure that supports the needs of the business
4.2 Development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans
4.3 Ensure continuous delivery of IT services and support to the business
4.4 Keep current with latest trends in IT industry
4.5 Manage the development and enhancement of business applications, website and other relevant systems in line with business objectives.

5. Financial Management
5.1 Identify opportunities for cost-effective investment of IT systems and resources and risks associated with such investments by means of cost/benefit analysis
5.2 Oversee the management of Service Level Agreements of suppliers of IT goods and services
5.3 Manage the annual operating and capital budgets for IT

6. People Management
6.1 Oversee performance management, recruitment, training & development and retention of IT staff in line with HR practices and policies
6.2 Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead teams to execute the business vision and strategy
6.3 Facilitate team building and change management interventions
