Based at Head Office, Cape Town. The purpose of the role is to assist with the administration of claims dealt with by the various Insurers, which includes Personal Lines, Short Term and existing Buildings Insurance claims. This includes claims from start to finish, rejections and individual underwriting of policies due to claims. Administer underwriting of Short Term Insurance and existing Buildings Insurance policies. 2nd tier underwriting, premium collections.

Responsibilities:

- Acceptance of claims from client, brokerage or related third party
- Capture of new business policies
- Endorsements and Amendments
- Renewal of policies
- Post loss underwriting
- Analyze claims
- Rejection of claims
- Understanding fundamentals of rejections, analyzing Assessors reports
- Ensure completeness of claims from clients
- Ensure existence of cover
- Negotiating claims settlements
- Follow up with Insurer as to progress of claim
- Liaison with client on all aspects of claim
- Notification to client of completion/ repudiation of claim
- Dealing with client queries
- Liaison with Insurers and Brokerage Sales force to ensure correct claims administration
- Bank confirmations
- Renewal of policies

Requirements:

- Grade 12
- Computer Literate
- Experience in Short Term Insurance underwriting and claims
- 4 years’ experience in underwriting and claims
