Overall purpose of the position:
The key objective of the Western Claims Manager will be to manage the day to day claims operations for the Conventional Business. Service and Cost containment will be critical outputs. The current and expected growth envisaged by Western requires daily management on the floor in order to assist Western with key objectives being exceptional service levels and reduction in average cost of claim.

Job Specifications:
(Commercial Lines, Motor and Non-Motor)
• Ensure Service levels is adhered to within the Broker environment
• Daily management of Claim Consultants
• Approval of Claims to the estimate Value of R100k
• Ensure that information on claims over R100k are in order
• Salvage Management
• Recovery and Liability Management
• Audit Claims Frequency and severity
• Ensure Risk Controls is embedded within the day to day operations
• Execution of Procurement initiatives
• Identify needs and assist and Train Staff in Execution of daily work
• Measure, monitor daily efficiencies and productivity

Qualifications & Experience:
• Matric
• Full qualification (Commercial Lines): NQF4 150 credits (Short-term Insurance)
• RE 5 successfully completed
• A minimum of seven (7) years’ claims handling experience (both commercial & personal lines)
• Minimum of four (4) years’ management experience
• Tial system experience will be an advantage
• Must have demonstrable experience in the planning and implementation of business processes and system management
• DOFA confirmation from FSB
