Our Client is an asset-based company run by a professional and highly experienced team which is focused on bringing efficiency, to their customers’ operations.They have opened a South African office and require a senior Clearing & Forwarding Officer to set up, establish and run their clearing & Forwarding Operation in South Africa. The right candidate will have extensive operational experience covering all aspects of clearing & Forwarding with in depth knowledge of Seafreight , Airfreight , Customs procedures as well as cross border requirements including inspections and export requirements.This company is one of East and Southern Africa’s fastest growing service companies, providing a variety of self-delivered logistics solutions with core competencies in road freight and operational hire of material handling equipment.

Overall Purpose of the Job
Establish and run a robust C & F function for the Company in South Africa.
Accountability & Responsibility Areas.
Manage and Control the forwarding/receipt of inbound and outbound cargo's documentation
Liaise and negotiate with statutory bodies to ensure effective finalization of the documentation processes.
Clearing documentation for road freight ,
Prepare and send management Reports,
Ensure that all relevant policies and procedures are adhered to,
Drive and manages profitable and consistent commercial retention , new business development and growth initiatives,
Supervises loading/offloading of trucks,
Maintain client satisfaction through cooperation with allied disciplines (entries, invoicing, customs),
Ensure communication to client is effective and efficient .
Grow and establish a team of experts dealing with the company's core competencies

Knowledge & Skills.
Bachelors degree,
Working experience within the Logistics, Supply Chain and Clearing & Forwarding Industry,
Strong knowledge of Customs Clearing & overall Clearing & Forwarding processes in Southern Africa
Fully computer literate, aptitude for technology and systems driven,
Excellent communicator (written and verbal) on all levels.
Analytical, Accountable, Assertive.
Ability to get hands dirty
Commercially astute.
