Requirements:
- Grade 12
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Training in the maintenance and management of medical equipment
- Registered member of the Clinical Engineering Association of South Africa
- Computer Literate
- Minimum 2 years experience in the maintenance and management of medical equipment in a hospital environment
- Familiar with Health & Safety and Health Act regulations
Responsibilities:
- Management of all medical equipment
- Implementing and maintaining CMMS for all medical equipment
- Planning and executing timely equipment services
- Acceptance of service certificates from contractors
- Capture maintenance results on CMMS
- Ensure commissioning tests are performed prior to acceptance of new, demo and/or loan equipment
- Ensure all new medical equipment is barcoded according to the system
- Conduct equipment audits
- Compile medical equipment replacement schedule and obtain business approval
- Purchasing medical equipment
- Liaise with suppliers
- Obtain quotes for equipment and maintenance work
- Manage the budget
- Perform repairs, modifications and installations on equipment according to procedures
- Use test equipment to perform inspections and diagnose equipment failures where possible
