My client, a leader in the Private Hospital sector is looking for an experienced and qualified Clinical Equipment Technician at their facility in the CBD in Krugersdorp on the West Rand of Johannesburg.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible for the management of all clinical equipment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibility for the management of all clinical equipment
Maintenance of all clinical related equipment per manufacturer’s specifications and Health Technology regulations
Interaction and training of all staff regarding medical equipment
Purchasing and motivating for the purchasing of medical equipment
Interaction with Clinical Equipment Co-ordinators, Medical Equipment Maintainers and Clinical Engineering Technician Assistants (CETAs) on technical and financial issues related to clinical equipment
Reporting on clinical equipment to the Technical Services Manager
Planning and executing regular equipment services to comply with health and safety regulations
Liaising with medical equipment suppliers to stay informed and trained in latest technological development
Interacting with Hospital management in the absence of a Technical Services Manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Member of the South African Association of Clinical Engineers (CEASA)
Eligible for professional registration as a Technician at the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering: Clinical Engineering with two years additional experience and training in the maintenance and management of medical equipment in a Hospital environment
Good communication skills and the ability to transfer information through practical interaction with a wide range of staff
Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Health Act regulations advantageous
Good verbal and written skills
Ability to work under stressful conditions
Ability and willingness to be on stand-by and partake in a call-out system
Continuous interaction with suppliers and attendance of technology updates are to form an integral part of continuous education and training
