CLINICAL FACILITATOR
A private hospital in Pretoria (Central, Sunnyside), needs to appoint a Clinical Facilitator. NICU training completed will be a great advantage.
To contribute to the delivery of quality nursing care by applying international best practise and to be responsible for assisting with education and training of basic nursing program students and administrative processes involved in nursing education and training, including facilitated practical activities.
•To assist with and co-ordinate supervision and training of all basic learners / permanent staff
•To facilitate and assist Unit Managers with teaching
•To assist with quality assurance and maintenance of nursing standards
•To facilitate a continuous in-service training program in the units
•To assist with the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures
•To place and rotate learners in the various disciplines to gain clinical competence as required by their program
•To liaise with unit managers / management regarding learner placement without causing a negative impact on the functioning of the various units
•To provide clinical facilitation for learners and permanent staff, both at the bedside and in a structured format, be it: one on one at the bedside, group discussion, on the spot teaching, demonstration, correlation, congruence or problem solving to complement theoretical teaching
•To identify the learning needs within the various disciplines, to ensure that facilitation / teaching is appropriate for the current practice and circumstances
•To prepare for and present a structured learning program where learners / permanent staff are seen in a class environment to consolidate theoretical knowledge and augment clinical application
•To maintain accurate records, as required by the tertiary institution for registration purposes, allowing the learner to complete the basic program
•To plan evaluation of the learner’s and permanent staff’s clinical competencies on a regular basis
•To, on a monthly basis, plan the completion the various clinical components of the learners’ program ensuring timely completion of the prerequisites
•To liaise with tertiary education institution through scheduled meetings to plan examinations / evaluations and identify problem areas
•To remain updated on new developments / learning opportunities as they may arise within the clinical practice environment in order to be able to convey up-to-date information to the learners / permanent staff ensuring they remain at the forefront of clinical practice
•To facilitate good working relationships with unit managers / management and other health professionals to ensure optimal patient care and sound management of staff within the units
To prepare learners for the supervisory role they would be required to fulfil on completion of their program

Nursing Education Qualification advantageous
Professional Nurse registered with SANC
Trained as a NICU Registered Nurse will be highly advised. Two years clinical experience in NICU hospital environment Experience in private hospital environment advantageous
