Position: Clinical Pharmacist

Requirements:

• MSc (Med) / Phar Degree essential
• 3-5 years practical clinical in the
• Current registration with South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist
• Understanding of pharmacy and related healthcare industry, legislation, and challenges
• Pharmaceutical product knowledge
• Computer proficiency (MS Office)

Duties and responsibilities:

• Effective medication safety management
• Participate in incident investigation in the hospital to identify root causes and corrective action
• Implement all quality initiatives as identified
• Review all ICU prescriptions and monitor all ICU patients to ensure effective and safe drug therapy and provide feedback and advice to healthcare team regarding potential problems
• Report management with regards to Anti-microbial
• Comply with all legal, professional and procedural requirements pertaining to dispensing of prescriptions
• Effective quality management systems
• Ensure compliance with SAPC, DOH and Private legal and professional standards
• Implement and sustain components of antimicrobial stewardship programme as identified
• Implement customer satisfaction and pharmacy quality initiative
• Effective financial management pertaining to portfolio
• Participate in achieving hospital budgeted financial measures relating to pharmacy
• Participate in the active management of cost of sales of pharmaceuticals in line with revenue and budget
• Build effective working relationships with doctors
• Effective asset management
• Participate in achieving stock targets
• Achieve optimal system utilisation
