Qualifications
• A recognised artisan trade test certificate with relevant experience in metal working
• CNC Programming and setting certificate or proof of course completion.
• Both conversational and “g”codes and working experience of CADCAM type software.
• Basic English , mathematics and computer literacy competency

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE SPECIFICATIONS
• Working experiential knowledge of milling machines & lathes operating on CNC controls.
• Milling machines in operation are Mazak V12 and Mazak Micro, Howa, Okuma, Hurco.
• Turning machines in operation are Okuma, Takisawa, Howa, Mori-seiki and Tsugami.
• Fanuc 5T and 6T as well as Fagor Conversational control panels.
• Edgecam software and CADCAM knowledge and operational experience.
• Fanuc 6M and Winmax conversational and G Code panels.
• Ability to read drawings &program CNC machine in accordance with issued drawings.
• Ability to choose correct cutting tools
• Ability to sequence job for correct shaping operations per drawing and process
• Ability to do offsets and set machine for production
• Knowledge of metal working procedures
• Knowledge of safe handling of tools and components.
• Analytical ability to apply experience and knowledge to written programs and procedures
• Logical reasoning skills in order to trouble shoot and apply preventative and corrective measures during the manufacturing process.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate across all levels with colleagues
• Supervisory skills for machine operators.
• High level of attention to detail , coupled with critical thinking skills
