PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Responsible for coaching on how to creating and optimizing CNC programs that manufacture complex production parts on CNC multi-axis machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. CNC programs will be developed from supplied engineering drawings and CAM software. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers during process engineering; aid in setting up machines. Assist and other set-up people and operators with technical assistance on how to operate a CNC machine. Also responsible for managing the tool store, vital to have tools ready to create a quick-tool change environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Program, Setup and Operate multi-axis CNC machines from drawings.
• Manage all CNC programs in accordance with company policies.
• Manage workload and output for assigned equipment.
• Create setup documentation.
• Communicate directly with Manufacturing and Design engineers in solving machining/design problems.
• Perform housekeeping and preventive maintenance within the tool store and highlight if same concerns on the shopfloor.
• Adhere to all company policies with special regard to safety, quality control, regulatory and materials handling.
• Manage the CNC toolstore to assist in quick change
• Perform process validation activities as required.
• Facilitate in CNC machinery training courses
• Monitor the training results.

Expected Areas of Competences:

• Strong knowledge of all relevant machinery, tooling, measuring, and gauging equipment and use of proper handling methods in assigned areas.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes in assigned area.
• Knowledge of proper set-ups for machinery and set-up files.
• Strong knowledge of CNC tooling and setup
• Strong knowledge of multi-axis complex CNC machines
• Strong knowledge of machine controllers (Fanuc, Siemens)
• Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and objectives.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees including engineers, management, and technical professionals
• Understands Zoller equipment for tooling alignment

POST REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have Grade 12 and Trade Test
• Must have B-Tech degree or B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years’ applicable experience
• Must be flexible and innovative
• Good problem solving
• Good interpersonal, facilitation and conflict management skills
• Good communication, planning and organizing skills
• Computer proficiency, with at least 5 years’ experience in Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to travel
