A national Civil and Financial giant is urgently looking for a (EE) Collections Manager for their Finance Division.


To compile and evaluate information required to collect delinquent accounts; recommend and initiate legal proceedings on enforcement actions; make field collections; and perform other duties, as required, in support of the Bank balance sheet.

Education
Minimum: Bachelors’ Degree in a Commercial area (NQF Level 7)
Desired: Legal Degree (NQF Level 7)

Experience
Minimum: 2 Years’ of responsible credit collections or similar experience in a Bank or
Corporate environment

Desired: 2 Years’ of responsible credit collections or similar experience, of which One Year
may be entry-level Accounting / Clerical work involving substantial Accounts
Receivable and public contact.


Responsibilities
? Develop strategies to significantly boost collection volumes and income within the organisation .
? Review and ensure all relevant approvals / procedures / SLA’s are in place and updated to reflect current organisation collection protocols
? Locate debtors and / or responsible relatives through contacting the originating department for clients’ additional information and / or contact details, to collect outstanding payments
? Exercise resourcefulness and ingenuity in gathering needed information from a wide variety of sources
? Contact debtors to determine willingness and / or ability to pay and explain legal requirements and / or obligations
? Establish effective rapport with debtors, responsible relatives and other parties to obtain information and elicit cooperation
? Conduct assessments to ascertain clients’ ability to pay
? Collect on receivable accounts by establishing realistic payment schedules, or renegotiate payment schedules, or obtain funds through responsible relatives or other means
? Make arithmetic computations for repayment schedule
? Negotiate agreements and settlements within established guideline
? Understand, apply and explain pertinent laws and procedures concerning collections and the seizure and sale of personal property
? Gather and present information in legal proceedings to procure legal judgments
? Establish and maintain accurate records and files

Skills
? Detailed understanding of South African Credit Act
? Strong interviewing techniques to obtain information
? Sound office practice and procedures, as well as record keeping practices
