Large financial services organisation invites experienced collections team leader to lead a team of 12-15 agents. Main responsibilities include a balanced approach to grow and mentor allocated team, motivating agents, meeting targets and reducing roll rates. Successful candidate wil report directly to the collections manager.

Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

Ability to problem solve: Identify a realistic and accurate understanding of the problem at hand by carefully analysing, diagnosing and investigating the issues and factors surrounding the problem as well as to decide on the appropriate solution and or action thereof.
Communication skills: Ability to liaise and communicate relevant information verbally and in written format.
Coaching Skills: Ability to identify relevant training needs and specific areas of difficulty that collectors might be experiencing, with the ability to provide structured, effective feedback to the collector.
People Skills: Ability to encourage and support collectors as well as the ability to motivate staff
Ability to make defined and discretionary decisions: Make a decision by applying technical and procedural knowledge to a given situation which would require the employee to make use of her discretion and better judgement to take the most appropriate decision
Ability to plan and organise: Prioritise daily, weekly and monthly tasks. Carry out each task timeously.

Minimum Requirements/ Experience:

Must have a Senior Certificate – Grade 12.
Must have min 2 years’ experience in supervising a collections team
Excellent telephone skills
Excellent verbal and written communication – particularly good written English essential
Ability to produce to a deadline and must be able to work under pressure
Attention to detail
Knowledge and experience of Vision 21 / Vision plus.
Knowledge of Collect Smart an advantage.
Ability to work shifts when necessary / required.
Computer literacy - must be efficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
