Colour Chemist (G453)
*Bsc Hons in Chemistry with SAPMA (paint technology) or related training. Five years related laboratory experience with previous colour experience highly preferred*
Location: Johannesburg (West Rand)
Description: A Colour Chemist is required to join a development team based at a company on the West Rand (Johannesburg). The position will report to the Colour Lab Manager with key duties to: undertake project planning, laboratory experimental work, application evaluation testing, field trials and competitor evaluations relevant to the allocated technical projects; apply formulating guidelines issued by the colour team; maintain accurate records of all laboratory work and interpret experimental results for reporting progress and suggesting the future direction of allocated projects relating to color; undertake laboratory experimental work within ISO 9001:2000 Product Realization Procedures; contribute innovative ideas to improve products and processes; assist with colour requests, complaints, audits and ensure compliance to quality system and processes; implement technical protocols and best operating practices during technical projects including transfer to Production Department.
Key Requirements: Minimum Bsc Hons in Chemistry with SAPMA (paint technology) or related training. Five years related laboratory experience with previous colour experience highly preferred. Must be highly computer literate.
Additional Requirements: The capacity to carry out laboratory work in accordance with agreed plans and with minimal supervision; the ability to produce high quality work within agreed time targets; the capacity to interact with all team members and participate in project review discussions; a high level of motivation, self-discipline and energy with a desire to meet targets; eye for colour; ability to create colour databases.
Remuneration: Market related (basic + benefits)
