Colour Chemistry Specialist (G452)
*Bsc Hons or MSc in Chemistry with 5 years practical laboratory experience in colour chemistry*
Location: Johannesburg (West Rand)
Description: A Colour Chemistry Specialist is required to join a development team based at a company on the West Rand (Johannesburg). The position will report to the Development Manager with key duties to: manage the color services projects; allocate projects to different resources; review the progress of projects against dead lines; develop new test methods; provide product and technical service support; review technical specifications, stability / validation protocols, reports and other quality documents; develop new processes and methods to improve efficiency and productivity; develop training notes and programmes for staff; be informed of latest trends and new technology opportunities; maintain the lab - housekeeping, instruments and safety; ensure compliance with ISO Quality and Environmental Codes of Practice for the team; ensure healthy and safe Working Practices in the department.
Key Requirements: Minimum Bsc Hons or MSc in Chemistry with 5 years practical laboratory experience in colour chemistry; highly computer literate.
Additional Requirements: The capacity to carry out laboratory work in accordance with agreed plans and with minimal supervision; the ability to produce high quality work within agreed time targets; reliability to implement experiments with scientific accuracy and common sense; ability to identify and highlight observations that are of an unusual nature and table them at review meetings; the capacity to interact with all team members and participate in project review discussions; a high level of motivation, self-discipline and energy with a desire to meet targets.
Remuneration: Market related basic + benefits
