Business planning (overall company lead), budgeting and forecasting sales investment and sales performance. Ensuring tight controls over sales processes and investment. Principle Accountabilities
Business Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting
Supporting the development of Sales and overall business strategy
through understanding the retail landscape and trade investment vs
return.
Driving clear decisions and trade-offs that support execution of the
strategy.
Preparing monthly sales outlooks, quarterly forecasts of all trade
investment and leading the overall Annual Business Planning
process.
Financial Control
Ensuring all sales related investment is correctly accounted for and
that investment is within budgets and mandates and driving monthly /
quarterly / annual governance processes in the sales team.
Management Reporting
Preparation of monthly Trading Terms & Conditions management
reports; submission of Sales information via central system.
Development of new sales reports on customer profitability.
Promotions Management
Reviewing and challenging pre-evaluations of National promotions vs
agreed criteria (sales uplift/effective discounts/promo cost incl free
items, NS and MCI impact);
Co-ordinating the preparation and review of the post-evaluations of
National promotions as above and making recommendations on how
to improve/manage future promotions.
Decision Support and Other
Supporting line management in analysing and evaluating business
risks and opportunities using unstructured numerical data;
Performing ad-hoc analysis in support of Sales and business
management decision making;
Follow up on implementation of actions flowing from decisions.

Candidate Requirements
Education
BCOM + Ideally Qualified/Part Qualified CA, CIMA or similar
Experience
Minimum 8 years commercial experience.
SAP experience with working knowledge of SD/FI/MM/CO Integration is
an advantage
Exposure to FMCG sales concepts
Skills / Abilities
Proactiveness, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Advanced MS Excel.
Highly analytical and process orientated.
Practical understanding of strategy formulation
