Job Description:

The primary purpose of the role is to manage the Commercial Finance and Management Accounting capabilities of the Finance Department. The incumbent will be required to support the Commercial area in its decision making through the provision of financial related information; and drive the budgeting process across the Company
Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the product offerings and business areas and their respective financial levers
Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate and provide recommendations for business development and optimisation opportunities
Responsible for the accuracy and quality of output by establishing checks and balances ahead of submissions
Ensure results (reports & presentations) are professionally and clearly communicated, highlighting key assumptions and potential risks to drive and support business decisions
Partner closely with relevant stakeholders and all business functions, to provide support and apply specialist knowledge to challenge assumptions
Influence strategic decision making through relevant financial analysis
Contribute towards operational efficiency by identifying opportunities for improving data, systems and processes / procedures
Support and drive automation
Keep abreast of developments in analytical tools, techniques and industry standards/best practice
Drive the overall corporate budgeting activities including budget formulation, monitoring, and timelines and assigning responsibility for deliverables to ensure all key deadlines are met
Review the monthly/quarterly/half yearly/yearly reporting information for distribution to the various internal and external stakeholders
Manage and develop the Commercial Finance Team as direct reports to the Commercial Finance Manager
Deliver on ad hoc projects / requests from the Head of Corporate and Commercial Finance

Qualifications:

Relevant Finance Degree or equivalent
Professionally Qualified – CA(SA) or CIMA
Minimum of 5 years financial reporting, budgeting and business partnering experience
Proven analytical skills – ability to handle large volumes of data
Experience engaging with senior management
People management experience (preferred)
Advanced Microsoft Excel
Advantageous: Exposure to Dynamics and Excel Insights Reporting Tool
Advantageous: Retail and/ or Financial Services industry experience
