Key performance areas:

• Act as an Accounting Authority and fulfil all the fiduciary duties, as this entity does not
have a Board
• Provide strategic direction to the entity by ensuring effective, efficient and economic utilisation of resources to ensure the fulfilment of legislative mandates
• Craft a clear vision and strategic goals for the NCC that will effectively respond to the broader goals and priorities of Government
• Develop policies, frameworks, strategies and procedures for the economical, efficient and effective functioning of the NCC
• Ensure the accomplishment of predetermined goals in support of Government priorities
• Develop strategies that will promote effective regulation
• Force relations and enter into cooperation agreement with other regulators, locally and internationally, for mutual benefit
• Effectively engage with key stakeholders to promote broader Government objectives
• Ensure that entity promotes good corporate governance by implementing policies, systems, tools for effective performance of the entity and meeting the expectations of the shareholder
• Adhere to all statutory requirements as outlined by the shareholder, Parliament, National Treasury, Auditor-General South Africa, etc
• Ensure that the entity complies with all the relevant laws and strive for achieving clean audits.

Requirements
• Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in economics, law, commerce, industry or public affairs
• Minimum of 10 years in Senior Management within a regulatory environment or public sector or private sector
• Extensive knowledge of legislative prescripts governing the entity and others that are critical in managing a public sector institution
•Understanding of Government planning, monitoring and evaluation processes
• Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels, including politicians, trade unions, etc
• Excellent management experience of an institution with strong management skills
• Knowledge of corporate governance
