A Healthcare providing Clinical Care to HIV positive adults, children and adolescents is currently looking for a dynamic and driven Project Manager Communication

To support the Communications Manager and Head of Communications & Strategy in the execution of the organization’s communications strategy.

Education, Training and Experience
• Relevant degree in marketing, communications, business or similar
• Valid SA drivers license
• Proven writing track record
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a marketing, communications and/or public relations role
• Proven technical expertise in the chosen discipline.
• Understanding of the research and academic environment
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency in Microsoft office and relevant software

Key performance areas
• Provide staff with regular organisational information through newsletters and other communication means i.e. intranet, reports, publications, materials etc.
• Co-ordinate the development, design, content and production of regular staff communications i.e. writing and editing of articles and emails
• Support the planning and arrangements of staff events
• Support all internal committees with communication requirements e.g. organisational health committee programme, Research Review Committee, etc.
• Ensure timeous compliance with university and donor reporting requirements, collecting and collating data as needed and presenting it in the appropriate formats
• Ensure all communication is compliant with donor requirements and branding
• Support the production of effective external communications such as publications, materials, annual reviews, etc.
• Support the Communications Manager in dealing with the media by responding to media enquiries and facilitating expert comment, and producing proactive press releases as appropriate
• Monitor media coverage and record using appropriate tools
• Co-ordinate the planning and arrangements of relevant events and functions
• Ensure strong brand presence at relevant events/conferences
• Continuously review, understand and respond to the organisation’s needs vis-à-vis the intranet and website
• Maintain the intranet and website to support purpose, objectives and brand
• Develop and implement a strategy to increase and maintain user engagement with the intranet, in support of the organisation’s goal of using the intranet as the default intra-organisation communication and collaboration medium
• Obtain input from stakeholders to ensure the intranet and website information is relevant, accurate, compliant and regularly update
• Where relevant, ensure effective linkages with other online entities, e.g. job vacancies cross-posted on Facebook and Linked-In, links with partners’ websites, etc. Ensure partners have correct logos and organisational information and we are correctly profiled on external sites
• Effective self-management and performance ownership
