Job Purpose Statement:
To develop, execute and evaluate a range of communication and marketing programmes that support local countries? communication and marketing objectives and when necessary adapt corporate/Regional programmes to local market needs.

Job Size:
The incumbent will be required to produce for each programme. They will be expected to brief multiple agencies and thereafter be responsible for the delivery of programmes on time, within corporate guidelines, whilst ensuring the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
• Develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies (internal and external) for Southern Africa, aligned with the corporate communication strategy.
• Communication policy – ensure the corporate communication policy is implemented across the Southern Africa region, including compliance with the policy and communication procedures.
• Support the Stakeholder engagement team with communication requirements using guidelines from corporate communication policy. These communication elements include key messages, speeches, Q&As, interviews, press releases, etc.)
• Adapting crisis communication plan for region and build crisis communication capability through training and exercises.
• Drive alignment and regular interaction with the communication officers for all crisis communication, press release approvals, international media relations, international publications, international press Q&As, and business issues that could potentially impact relations in Southern Africa.
• Work to continuously improve the company?s in Southern Africa by supporting delivery of clear, consistent and coherent messages with key internal and external stakeholders, and sharing feedback with the Executive Team members.
• Enhancing company?s visibility and reputation in Southern Africa through PR strategies and plans
• Develop, implement and evaluate a range of approved communication and marketing programmes that support the regional communication and marketing plans.
• Brief programmes to agencies and thereafter ensure such programmes are delivered on-time within corporate guidelines and within agreed budget.
• Ensure all local workgroups are fully involved in the development and execution of programmes and where their input/follow up is required ensure “Buy-in” to the process.
• Maintain an accurate budget control system showing at all times up-to-date spend and commitments versus budget.
• Provide a full range of marketing services to internal workgroups and be the main day-to-day contact for queries or support issues.
• Adapt corporate/Regional programmes, ensuring accurate copy translation; achievement of desired „tone of voice? and acceptable creative execution where change may be required due to cultural differences.
• Gather information from local workgroups (primarily Sales, Customer Services, Tele-service & frontline team members) regarding competitor activity, pricing info, customer needs etc. and thereafter assist in providing recommendations for management.
• Present marketing study findings (customer satisfaction, image & awareness, product development, focus groups) to local workgroups indicating where necessary, where their further input/action or involvement is required.
• Assist in providing research on a varied range of marketing issues, to help local management decision making process, e.g. local competitiveness cut-off times/transit times/specialised services.

Essential Education and Training Experience;
• Degree in business, marketing, public relations, communications, or equivalent, from a leading university and / or
• MBA / Post Graduate
• Aware of standard business indicators
• Segmentation marketing knowledge
• 5 – 10 years „experience in marketing and communications
