Our client in the Financial Regulatory Services based in Centurion is looking for a Compliance Officer to provide guidance to supervisory bodies, accountable and reporting institutions and other affected stakeholders regarding the interpretation and application of the organisation’s Act.

Job Description:
•Provide forward thinking guidance and prevention expertise regarding regulated institutions, persons and sectors;
•Engage with external stakeholders to ensure compliance to the organisation, exchange information, provide solutions and solve queries, related to standard matters, under guidance;
•Develop a sound understanding of various regulated institutions and sectors;
•Identify problems and issues experienced within industry sectors affected by the Financial Act;
•Monitor domestic developments which impact on the control measures to combat money laundering and terror financing;
•Provide solutions, solve queries selecting from a set of possible alternatives;
•Critically assess the need for guidance to supervisory bodies, regulated institutions and sectors on the application of the Financial Act;
•Assist in preparing guidance notes for approval and publication;
•Assist, when required, with onsite compliance reviews.
•Prepare draft guidance products, including directives as requested.
•Assist in the drafting and revision of the organisation compliance handbook for internal use, i.e. summary of interpretations and applications.
•Administration of the compliance query process in accordance with the set process.
•Prepare draft responses on compliance queries.
•Handle telephonic queries from the public

Required Qualifications and Experience:
•Relevant University Degree (e.g. LLB, BCOM)
•Post graduate Compliance Management qualification preferred.
•At 3 years' experience in relevant field i.e. compliance/risk experience, including practical experience in the application of compliance methodologies, of which 1 year must be practical experience in the AML/CFT environment.
•Excellent communication skills (oral and written);
•An intermediate to advanced level of computer literacy, including MS Word, MS Access, MS Projects; MS Excel, MS Power Point.
