Establishing and embedding compliance culture in the company and its business units.
Provide company’s business units with guidance in relation to the development of the business unit specific plan that ensure that the business units comply with the applicable legislative requirements and regulations.
Identify and assess regulatory universes and draft compliance risk management plans for high risk legislation.
Provide compliance opinions and training.
Compilation of submissions to relevant regulators.
Review and monitor compliance processes and compliance to regulations and legislation.
Report on non-compliance and any process deviations to senior management.
Interact with internal with internal and external bodies such as Risk Management, Internal Audit, Legal Services regulations and industry bodies
Advise on regulatory requirements and internal controls.
Manage the compliance programme of the company.
Expertise & Technical Competencies:
Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
LLB Degree or other relevant post graduate qualification
Must preferably be an admitted attorney of the High Court of SA or an admitted Chartterd Accountant
A post graduate diploma in compliance management will be advantageous
A minimum of 5 years experience as a compliance officer within the Banking or Corporate Sector
Preferable that the candidate is a member of the compliance association of SA
Previous experience in Compliance
Excellent negotiation skills, good drafting and vetting skills as well as dispute and conflict resolution experience
