Computer Assisted Audit Techniques Specialist (CAATS) Analyst – Medical Scheme - Pretoria – 5 Months Contract

The CAATS Analyst will report directly to the ICT Audit Manager and will form part of the Internal Audit Division.

The CAATS Analyst will provide support to the ICT Audit Manager on the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

? Support the internal audit team by identifying areas where CAATS could be utilised;
? Consult with internal audit teams to define data requirements;
? Develop scripts for data mining;
? Manage the audit team’s requests and track progress within agreed timelines;
? Analyse outcomes to identify trends, exceptions and areas for further investigation or enquiry;
? Report and communicate on analysis performed and findings;
? Research, develop and implement a continuous CAATS auditing programme;
? Provide guidance and support relating to data analysis to other auditors and business management;
? Manage the process of transferring tests and data to audit team as necessary on an ongoing basis;
? Manage the internal audit data repository;
? Assist in evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, aggregate and analyse high-level and low-level information into a format that can be generally understood;
? Monitor the auditing budget;
? Correspond with auditees as necessary during execution of audit responsibilities;
? Handle documentation received during audit engagements in line with the organisation’s applicable policies, internal audit procedures and code of conduct;
? Manage allocated projects within allocated timelines and budgets;
? Promote organisational culture and values;
? Assist with the collation of information required for the Audit Committee submission and other committee meeting arrangements as required from time to time;
? Attend Employee Committee meetings on a monthly basis;
? Adhere to operational objectives, plans and policies of the organisation in execution of responsibilities; and
? Interpret operational plans, policies and objectives and align audit testing accordingly.

Qualification requirements are:
? A National Diploma at an NQF level 6 in Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology;
? A degree will be an added advantage;
? At least three years’ practical experience in data mining and analytics (experience within the medical scheme industry will be an added advantage);
? Knowledge of database design structures and query languages;
? Experience with relevant data analytical tools in performing complex data analytics is essential, (experience on Interactive Data Extraction and Analysis (IDEA) is mandatory;
? IT auditing exposure (advantageous);
? Quality orientation;
? Able to work with all levels of staff and management; and
? Internal audit exposure (advantageous).
