Configuration and Change Manager
IT Change Manager
Responsible for end-to-end service delivery to company business through effective and efficient development and implementation of configuration management and change management policies, plans, procedures and standards according to ITIL framework
Develop and Implement Configuration Management policy and standards.
Implements the configuration management policy and standards
Assist in implementation of configuration management systems
Evaluation and continuously improve the configuration process and system
Agrees scope of the configuration management processes, function, the items that are to be controlled, and the information that is to be recorded
Evaluate change management policies, processes, function and continuously improve
Develops configuration management standards, configuration management plans and procedures
Ensures that changes to the configuration and change management methods and processes are properly approved and communicated
Arranges recruitment and training of staff within change management and configuration.
Manages the evaluation of configuration management
Manages the configuration management plan, principles and processes and their implementation
Ensures that CI are uniquely identified with naming conventions
Ensures that staff comply with identification standards
Proposes/agrees and initiate interfaces with change management, problem management, network management, release & deployment management, computer operations, logistics, finance and administration functions.
Plans and implement population of the Configuration Management System (CMS); manages CMS, central libraries, tools, common codes and data; ensures regular housekeeping of the CMS.
Provides necessary reports, including management
Develop process improvements to enhance configuration and change management efficiency.
Determine configuration requirements and develop system configuration procedures.
Educate staffs about configuration and change management policies and practices.
Assist in developing tools to support daily configuration and change management activities.
Enforce and follow configuration and change management policies and practices.
Analyse and resolve configuration and change management problems in a timely fashion.
Communicate configuration and change management discrepancies to management for immediate resolutions.
Assist by taking a lead in designing automation tools to support configuration procedures.
Ensure that system configuration is executed in accordance with customer needs.
Assist in configuration audits and implement audit recommendations.
Provide support to project teams in configuring and base-lining project items and change management.
Prepare configuration documentations and maintain Configuration Management database(CMDB)
Collate change management documentations for change management forum (CAF)

People Management
Mentor and assist team members when necessary through knowledge sharing and provide technical advice and guidance.
Provide leadership and direction for direct reports
Mange performance and team development of direct reports

Ad-hoc duties
Perform and/or manage other projects, tasks and assignments not stipulated on the Job description as and when required

Stakeholder Management
Establish and maintain relationships with relevant internal stakeholders including Corporate Executives, Business Executives/ Heads of Units and process owners to understand their service requirements and service delivery model, inclusive of related costs.
Establish and maintain relationships with external suppliers and define service requirements
Qualifications
Information Technology Degree
ITIL Configuration Practitioner certificate
ITIL Service Transition Certificate (will be an advantage)
Agile Methodology understanding
Prince 2
Release and Deployment process understanding

Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Configuration
Minimum of 2 years Change management experience
Minimum 5 years IT experience
Minimum 3 years’ Service Management experience
R55 000 to R59 000 per month and it is negotiable based on the experience
