Looking for a General Manager (GM) with extensive experience in road and bridge construction. Experience of working in Nigeria or Africa is an added advantage. GM will be responsible for the strategy, commercial, operational, financial, human resources and health and safety aspects of the company. GM will be responsibile for all activities focused on ensuring that projects are delivered to timescale, budget and quality, whilst maintaining excellent standards of health and safety and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

Must have an engineering degree or equivalent qualification in Civil or Construction Engineering
Must possess over 10 years of total experience and experience in road and/or bridge construction, of which at least 5 years in a senior management role
Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills in English
Possess good project background and proven technical writing ability and skills
Has some experience of working with a Quality Management System
Experience in working for a startup construction company is an added advantage


Roles and Responsibilities:

Recruit management and operational team from scratch
Develop and implement a strategic plan and budget for the business, ensuring alignment with goals and objectives set out by the Board and ensuring adherence to purpose and values, policies and procedure of the company
Put systems, processes and policies in place to ensure goals and objectives of the business are met
Puts strategies in place to ensure high levels of client satisfaction across all projects
Responsible for the Health and Safety policy and ensure the right processes and systems in place to monitor compliance
Ensure there are effective contract and documentation procedures in place to deliver legally complaint projects and minimise costs and risks
Provide regular and relevant reports to the Board highlighting project status, financial performance and any operational risks
Track financial performance of all projects to ensure information is reported in accurate and timely manner
Put in place effective risk management processes to identify, quantify, monitor and minimise risks in projects
Ensure company’s values are adhered to by modelling values for other managers across the business to emulate
Develop and promote a positive working environment with all staff

Salary: 7,000USD to 10,000 USD depending on experience : with normal expat benefits (accommodation, flights, visas etc)
