CONSTRUCTION MANAGER – Sasol Project SECUNDA

Fixed term contract 8 months from 21 May 2018 – December 2018

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Std 10 / N3 (4 Subject Certificate with Mathematics and Science)
• National Diploma Electrical Engineering/B Tech/BSc /
Or
Qualified Electrician with Wireman’s license
• Project Management Diploma /certificate
• Formal Health and Safety certificate/Construction Regulations

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
• At least 5 years MV/HV cable installation experience in a Construction environment
• NEC contract experience
• Construction regulation and OHS ACT
• Registration with ECSA and SACPCMP will be an added advantage
• Sasol site experience

Key Performance:
Subordinates of +- 30 people on site and sub-contractors

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB (JOB SUMMARY)
• Responsibility, and accountability for assigned projects incl. Management, Supervision and motivation of staff, site personnel, suppliers and sub contactors located on multiple construction sites in order to complete MV and HV cable installations and contacts
• Meeting plan project completion dates, and ensuring high quality of work
• Drawing up Project Plans and cash flow forecast as well as manage costs to ensure that budget margins are achieved on time and in full
• Ensure full compliance to customer specifications and meet requirements of customers contracts and SLA’s
• Directing personnel in Health, Safety and Environmental matters, and ensure strict compliance to the OHS Act, particularly the Construction Regulations
• Active pursuit of PI Commercial interest with intention to grow PI Business
• Maintain good customer relations

Turnkey contract, maintenance and assessment work

• Taking responsibility and accountability for all projects
• Coordinate Construction Supervisors
• Control of civil contractors and subordinates
• Coordinate fluid filled cable maintenance work and circuit assessments
• Responsible for final testing commissioning and handover of contracts
