A global engineering and construction contractor is looking for a Construction Operations Manager (Home Office). Minimum Qualifications and Experience: • Engineering degree or diploma • 10+ years’ experience as a Resident Construction Manager on petro-chemical project sites Knowledge/Skills/Requirements: • 5 years’ experience in a senior position in a home office construction department, with particular reference to the preparation of project proposals • Good standard of written engineer • Candidate must be responsible and willing to participate as a member of the team, conscientious, methodical and prepared to adhere to corporate standards and procedures • Willing to communicate with the group and other disciplines to ensure the smooth running of the project Responsibilities: • Manage home office construction personnel to provide cost effective construction input for proposals, studies pre-FEED and FEED's • Deliver all home office generated construction execution strategies and procedure to ensure that the content is consistent and complies with company corporate and project requirements • Manage, initiate and develop constructability participation in reviews scheduled to address construction philosophies, paths of construction, methodologies and construction practices on a particular project • Monitor design and construction alerts, identify critical execution issues and implement lessons learnt from previous projects on new projects • Ensure technical documentation is reviewed and signed by relevant engineers in order to ensure constructability has been done in accordance with the company policy and project requirements • Ensure that the construction systems and procedure are compatible and interface with other corporate systems and project execution strategies • Give the necessary support to construction operations on active projects, both in the establishment of the site and during the construction phase • Manager and supervise the work of construction coordinators and the heavy lift engineers • Manage all aspects of HSEQS o ensure compliance with the objectives of the corporate HSEQ policies and manuals • Participate in the development of intelligence on contractor and competitor capacity in support of proposals activities • In conjunction with project material control personnel, monitor procurement actions to ensure materials are made available for construction operations in accordance with the project schedule • Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as required by the Manager Construction
