Position title: Consultant

Purpose of the position

To form part of the company’s consulting team.
To work on projects in financial services at client sites doing business and system analysis work.
Interact with project stakeholders and documenting business and system requirements.


Minimum Requirements

A relevant commerce degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics or computer science.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
SQL
Good, verifiable references.
No criminal record.


Preferred Requirements

Prior consulting and banking experience.
Post graduate degree
Business and / or Systems Analyst experience
Data analysis skills
Basel or Solvency experience.
Prior experience in Risk Management (Credit, Operational, Market Risk, Liquidity, or Interest Rate Risk).
Programming skills in one of the following languages: VBA, SAS, C#, C++, SQL, SAP
Holder of or studying towards CA(SA), FRM, PRM, CFA designation.
Excellent Excel skills.


Responsibilities

The candidate will amongst others be required to:

Fulfil the role of business and/or system analyst on projects.
Work independently or in a team of consultants/analysts.
Data Analysis and data mining.
Documenting business and data requirements.
Documenting functional and technical requirements for large system implementations in the Financial Services industry.
Report writing.
Compiling presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
Identify and anticipate risks within projects.
Escalation of risks or concerns to senior managers and stakeholders.
Solve problems pro-actively and independently.
Ensure quality of the deliverables and output produced during the course of projects.
Participation and delivery of internal projects.
Continuously develop personal knowledge and skills in the areas in which the company provides consulting services.

Credit, Operational or Market risk
