CONSUMABLES SALES MANAGER

Primary purpose of the position:

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Manager to join the sales team of this market leading company. The Sales Manager will be expected to develop new business and will be responsible for managing existing customers and a sales team.
The ideal Sales Manager will have experience selling products, ideally into a well-known market of manufacturers of consumables on a national level with a track record of consistently exceeding targets. You must have a clear hunger for success with immaculate presentation, excellent telephone manner and speak well in front of a crowd. The Sales Manager must be customer focused as it is vital to build lasting relationships with clients in order to retain and maximise business.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
The Sales Manager will be liaising with a client base within retail selling a tailored range of FMCG products. You will need to be prepared to work within a fast paced sales environment and to build a strong client base to maximise revenue opportunities.

• Strategically driving sales in market segments.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts.
• Forecasting with customers across all product categories within the channel.
• Strategically managing a sales team as well as managing sales throughout the given territory.
• Growth into the business whilst continually reviewing and expanding the network and developing the sales team to support customer’s needs.
• Comparing performance of actual sales results to and planned sales results and examining reasons for variance and determining if the plan needs to be revised.
• Actively gaining market share from competitors.
• Managing and driving sales volumes, forecasts and budgets within the company.
• Planning, organising, directing and controlling sales staff to meet sales targets and the managing sales representatives on a daily basis.
• Assessing gaps, competitor activities and opportunities in the market.
• Presenting and implementing strategic business plans and profitable strategies in collaboration with senior management.
• Accountability for the overall sales performance and for the day-to-day running of the sales teams.
• Managing and implementing customer activity plans to reach agreed sales targets.
Requirements:

• A relevant tertiary commercial qualification is essential;
• 8 – 10 years’ sales experience in either Building materials or Hardware or equivalent;
• Must have financial awareness in order to hit financial targets and implement financial analysis;
• Sound ability to communicate effectively across all levels;
• Excellent communication;
• Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
