The Company

The Media Image is a leading online paid search specialist agency based in Cape Town, servicing both local and UK clients. Specialising in all forms of paid and SEO search (Facebook, AdWords, Display, Bing) we have grown rapidly to be a leading SA and UK agency and are looking to expand our employee base.

The Department

The Content Department deals with all forms of digital content from text and design to video and surveys. We act in both a support and lead role to the SEO division depending on the client and have the full support of a Social and Outreach team. Regardless of the content discipline/s of the applicant, all team members are expected to be able to read a brand’s target market and strategise on content marketing campaigns.

The Role

We are looking for someone who is able to work well with numbers and possesses sound numerical and statistical reasoning abilities. Candidates must be skilled researchers who are also able to understand the target market’s potential interests and reflect them through the data. High attention to detail and the ability to spot potentially erroneous data is essential. Applicants must also have an interest in the digital content industry, be creative, adaptive and be skilled writers. They should also be familiar with gathering data through survey systems such as Survey Monkey.

Requirements

• Three years of experience working with research and statistics
• Two years in writing
• Proven track record of accuracy and published works
• Insight into digital marketing
• The ability to conceptualise new content campaigns
• High typing speed, complete familiarity with Microsoft Office and PCs
• Ability to adapt quickly to new deadlines, tasks and marketing tactics
• The ability to read a target market and provide it with relevant content
• Excellent research skills and identifying legitimate data
• Excel mastery
• Capable of independently setting up and gathering data from surveys

Advantageous

• Experience developing multiple forms of online
• Understanding of common content management systems (eg, Wordpress)
• Basic understanding of SEO/content optimisation
• The desire to learn about all aspect of brand marketing and the various content production disciplines

Key areas of responsibility:

Daily responsibilities
• Planning and implementing copywriting and content campaigns for selected clients
• Keeping up-to-date with current content marketing trends
• Assisting in the creation of visually compelling content
• Assisting in the development of client based content analysis and presentation services
• Assisting in the assessment of content opportunities for TMI clients
• Creating designated content for assigned clients on a regular basis
• Using company software and own knowledge to track the efficiency of published content
• Ensure that all content plans and materials are thoroughly documented and stored
• Completing assigned tasks from the Content HOD
• Ensuring personal efficient use of company management application
• Assisting and guiding content interns when required
• Liaise with different teams within The Media Image to complete assignments
• Keeping operational documents up-to-date and maintaining an orderly archive of work
• Consistently meeting deadlines and ensuring thorough completion of any and all internal, external, and/or client content generated.
• Assume management of individual client projects and ensure timeous delivery/high quality of overseen projects.
• Occasionally uploading content onto client CMS

Company development

• Partake in company training exercises and occasional social gatherings
• Examine TMI’s Content Department Career Growth Plan and actively work with HOD Content to establish personal goals and aspirations.
• Actively pursue content strategy and production training in your own capacity and share your knowledge with the company.
• Assist in the continuous development of TMI content production and strategies.
• Monthly publication of personal strategy for a selected TMI client
