The above vacancy exists within the Marketing Department and reports to the Manager: Marketing & Communication.

The purpose of the role is to create copy and content for SAMRO’s communication platform. Research, write, edit and produce company related material for internal and external consumption including, but not limited to the following:
• Letters.
• Brochures.
• Website copy.
• Speeches.
• Magazine copy.
• Features.
• Briefing notes.
• Newsletter copy.
• Presentations.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has successfully completed Grade 12 and a BA /Comm. Diploma/Degree in journalism, marketing, communication or related field and have at least 3-5 years experience in communication, marketing and copywriting.

Goals:
• Generate copy/content for SAMRO magazines, newsletter and other communication platforms.
• Proactive management of SAMRO’s communication function.
• External and internal SAMRO communications.
• Communication support to the business.
• Communication surveys and reports.

Minimum requirements:
• Must have copywriting experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Advanced computer skills, including working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet packages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an exceptional grasp of the English language.
• Evidence in converting organisational knowledge and target audience insights into executable communication plans.
• Relationship building and networking skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail is an essential requirement.
• Must have an extensive list or contacts in media and be able to collect, compile and maintain media contacts.
• Must have the ability to work under pressure.
• Code 08 driver’s license essential.
