Overview of role:
To assist in managing the tender and contract award processes, ensuring compliance with standard procedures and relevant regulations. To assist in the management of contracts after contract award, ensuring compliance by both parties with the terms and conditions of the contract. To provide support to the buying function by developing, maintaining, updating and warehousing all procurement contracts within their portfolio.

The incumbent in this role is required to:
•Manage the contract development function and champion the standardization of contract development in line with the client’s policies and strategy
•Manage the development of supplier contracts in line with the function’s purchasing policies and strategies
•Manage and administer contracts pertaining to commodity categories
•Ensure that contracts specify the outcomes required, together with clear criteria relating to costs, quality assurance, service standards and performance monitoring
•Ensure that all contracts are loaded on SAP
•Maintain a detailed contracts register for contracts under management and work with the contract lifecycle management system
•Complete and issue a Contract Review Record and ensure that relevant issues from the review are fed back into the procurement process
•Report on a monthly basis all contract activities and attend monthly contract review meetings
•Participate in the overall procurement process and assist with development, issuing and evaluation of tenders, as well as contracting
•Ensure that Advice to Procurement has been properly completed, is accompanied by all necessary tender documentation and is correctly authorized in accordance with the delegated authority.
•Maintain a working knowledge of the client’s Procurement Procedures and other relevant legislation that impact on a regular basis on procurement contract processing, to ensure that all contracts developed are aligned to these policies and laws.
•Work closely with all stakeholders to expedite contract development and management processes
•Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
Qualifications:
•Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management / Procurement / Strategic Sourcing / Contract Management
•Supply Chain Management Certification (CIPS) advantageous

Experience:
5 years in Contract Management, and 10 years overall in SCM (can include the 5 years’ of contract management)
