Job Description
Responsible for the planning and construction of the project
Oversee operations on a day-to-day basis, and ensure that work is done safely, on time and within budget and to the right quality standards.
Assess the progress of the on-site work and sort out any problems which could hold up the project.
Effective planning and management to avoid delays, wastage, material shortfalls, productivity losses etc.
Conduct on-site meetings
Maximise cost savings
Assisting with pricing and tendering
Term tenders including clarification meetings, allowable bill, programme and supervision
Effective communication with the tender department to add towards work selection, pricing, site inspection attendance and rate feedback
Ensure target profit is made
Provide training and development of staff
Following corrects procedure in terms of appointing, managing and paying subcontractors and suppliers.
Minimum Requirements
Relevant Civils Diploma or Degree
ECSA or SACPCMP registration (Candidate or Professionally Registered)
Minimum of 6 - 10 years experience in a Contracts Manager / Site Manager capacity, particularly with National Roads / Asphalt projects.
Contractual experience and knowledge (Colto, GCC, Fidic Nec and JBCC)
Experienced in working on projects to the value from R100 million upwards
