JOB PURPOSE

To function as a contract manager on multi-disciplinary projects, utilizing the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure successful execution of projects, by meeting present objectives as set by the clients in terms of time, quality and cost constraints.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

A relevant BTech/ National Diploma in Electrical engineering is required, registration with SACPCMP and ECSA will be advantageous.

Minimum of 5 years relevant experience is required.

Drivers Licence code 8 (code EB) is required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Managing the signalling

Establish initial needs and requirements of clients through detail, organising and the provision of recommendations regarding alternatives to ensure client satisfaction

Ensure successful project execution and completion by managing cash flow, contract administration, safety responsibilities, site investigations, quality assurance, project team, time and cost management.

The management and control of tasks within time, cost and quality constraints against the background of knowledge and standard procedures and techniques.

Should be able to show a good balance between the development of innovative concepts (creative ability) and the use of standard procedures.

Maintain the balance between the technical effectiveness of solutions and acceptable costs, within the available time span.

Establish framework for execution of the project by design and drawings, accurate tender documentation, detailed programming techniques, contract documentation and specification writing.

Responsible for training and development of sub-ordinates.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, Standard Engineering Codes of Practise, Project engineering, management and execution, Contract administration, Estimating and tendering procedures, Budgeting and financial control, Safety management, Basic knowledge of Company financial systems, company internal regulations and systems, Quality management,

Sound Knowledge of OHS Act (Act 85 and Construction Regulations).
