This construction company has been awarded 2 contracts in the Northern Cape and require a Contracts Manager - Surfacing for an initial 4 months contract, these may become permanent.

NB: You must be registered with SACPCMP or ECSA.(NOT NEGOTIABLE)

A large Construction material supply company operating throughout South Africa is looking for a suitably qualified Contracts manager with a sound knowledge of Roads & Earthworks on Highways and Provincial roads and who are prepared to work in the Northern Cape on a contract basis initially, it can become permanent.

Description:

Assumes responsibility for the Contracts Management and integration of all physical construction activities on site.

Skills, Experience & Education:

BSC, BTech, HND or ND in Civil Engineering
15 - 20 years of experience in the Roads & earthworks industry particularly in Highway/National roads, out of which the last 6-8 years should have functioned in the similar capacity of a medium/ large Roads & Earthworks construction Company (CIDB 8 or 9).surfacing would be an added bonus.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

To construct and deliver the allocated section of work within a specified timeframe with allocated resources.
Read, understand and explain drawing specifications to Foremen.
Ensure safety compliances to and promote safe working practices.
Monitor construction activity on site to prescribed quality standards.
Monitor production and make daily progress reports for submission to Line Management.
Identify bottlenecks, resolve them and streamline the construction process on site.
Integrate various resource requirements of production teams on site.
Monitor, control and improve production and productivity levels on site.
Conduct production planning and integration meetings on site
