Purpose of position: Maintain all belt scales, programmable logic controllers, pneumatic and electronic instruments in a calibrated and operational state within safety regulations.

Requirements:

-Instrument Trade Test Qualification

-Electrical Engineering (Light current diploma)

-Min 5-10 years' mining experience in instrumentation

-Various programmable logic controller programming, supervisory control and data acquisition configuration, in depth scale knowledge

-Knowledge of Allan Bradley & Mitsubishi PLC's

-Qualified to issue C.O.C on electrical panels will be advantageous

-Ability to manufacture motor control panels will be advantageous

-Proficient in MS Windows

-Must be medically fit

-Fluent in English and Afrikaans

-Valid Drivers license


Key areas of responsibilities:

-Intensive programming and maintenance of programmable logic controllers (PLC), including operating and repairing PLC Systems.

-Keep PLC up to start

-Fault finding, software changes, software backups and documentation on PLC

-Belt scales - calibrations, fault finding, repair and updated documentation

-Pneumatic and electronic instruments - Calibrations, fault finding, repair and new installations.

-Supervisory system - Software changesm software backups and documentation

-Spares - Identify all critical components and submit order requests

-Be "hands-on" and prepared to get dirty

-Be able to work as a team member and as an individual

Time Frame: As soon as possible

Probation Period: Permanent Contract, however the first 3 months will be a fixed term contract basis (Probation Period)
