Control Systems Principle Designer Umhlanga, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Market Related Salary 3-year contract Closing Date: 7th October 2016

They work with governments and clients in diverse industries around the world to design, construct, and maintain complex and challenging capital projects.
REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS:
Prepare complex design drawings. Interface with other design disciplines.
Provide direction to, and guidance on, 2D and 3D CAD design.
Work independently with little or no supervision.
Check complex concrete and steel design drawings.
Perform squad check of vendor equipment drawings and drawings from other disciplines.
Review fabricator drawings. Assist the Design Supervisor, as required.
Check or audit of wiring and loop diagrams
Check or audit control systems models and drawings
Develop and check control systems area and unit location plan drawings
Perform and or check design calculations (e.g., wire sizing, conduit fill, voltage drop, junction box or panel sizing)
Perform Instrument material take-off
Create and check advanced complexity instrument installation details
Perform control systems design review
Provide guidance and mentorship to lower-classification designers.
Communicate, both verbally and in written form in a professional manner.
Actively participate in the Knowledge Community and other available resources.
Evaluate Performance Appraisal input and administer counseling.
Travel, as required, to ensure the successful execution of project and/or department goals.
Participate in department training programs/seminars and on-line training Check or

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
National Diploma: Electrical Engineering / Process Instrumentation
A combination of education and directly related experience equal to fifteen (15) years.
Previous Control System and Instrument design experience in a Petrochemical Environment with an EPCm contractor is required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Intergraph SmartPlant Instrumentation software
3D modeling software (Intergraph SP3D, PDS, or PDMS)
Instrumentation and control systems design in a 3D model
