AA21481 - A Convention Centre situated in Pretoria seeks a Convention Centre Buyer with the following qualifications: A diploma in hospitality would be advantageous.Duties will include: Key responsibilities: Establish and carry out Request for Quotations, Proposals, and Tenders etc. for commodities, products and services from suppliers in conjunction with the Centre's Strategic Procurement Unit. Negotiate contracts with suppliers. Establish and maintain an updated supplier database for the Centre. Ensure best practices are maintained with suppliers regarding pricing, service delivery, quality, BBBEE requirements and negotiate the best pricing for the Convention Centre. Ensure all food suppliers conform to the required food safety and hygiene standards and present valid certification thereof. Procurement and stock control of commodities, products and services for all Convention Centre departments. Processing of invoices on centre's e-procure to pay system and on ICC Vector system. Data capturing and reporting. Stock controls with month end stock counts and reports. Quality control of deliveries and monitoring to ensure compliance with contracts. Monitoring of price increases and communication regarding same Qualifications, skills and experience: Any tertiary qualification in purchasing.The candidate must have the following skills: Five years’ procurement experience in a Market research, source suppliers and hospitality establishment. Ability to work under pressure. People management skills. Interpersonal communication skills. Service excellence skills. Knowledge of suppliers in the hospitality industry.PS: Market related salaries are offered for this role
