A large data-driven, technology-enabled performance marketing agency are looking for a Copywriter to join their team in Johannesburg. The job of the Copywriter will be to generate concepts and write copy that will motivate people to act in ways that will help our clients achieve their objectives. They will generate content for use in strategic interactive marketing products and services.

As the Copywriter in Johannesburg, your job duties will include:

- Writing copy for online marketing products which will meet client strategic planning objectives. Primary focus of position is for email marketing with an extension into emerging direct digital mediums
- Work with creative directors, artists, and client team to create appropriate, workable ways to express and enhance the client's messages
- Researches clients' products/ services/ images/ competition to ensure ability to write accurate, on-target copy concepts
- Gather resource material and performs research, as required, to meet requirements of particular projects. Consults with clients regarding user-centric design and copy issues
- Assist with internal creative needs related to agency self-promotion, online presence, and branding elements
- Responsible for current knowledge and understanding of emerging trends and technologies and the ability to institute best practices for interactive products and email marketing
- Contribute to the agency's continuous quality improvement by offering input on all aspects of the product, including the areas of strategy, offers, list and audience targeting, concept, and analysis of results

Requirements for this Copywriter job in Johannesburg:

- 1-3 years of experience in the conception and execution of web sites and email marketing in an agency setting, preferably in direct response marketing
- Working knowledge of design tactics and direct marketing strategy with the ability to create a clear and concise message in the brand voice
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Marketing Communications, or related discipline
- Ability to analyze problems and produce viable solutions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
