Change the World Trust is a non-profit passionate about long-term solutions and ripple-effect project results. Its primary focus is IT Training and educational projects benefiting youth and children. Launched in early 2009 as a hands-on IT Training project, it has grown and is seen as the early-mover and leading innovator in ICT Training ventures for youth in South Africa.
The Trust seeks to appoint a Corporate and Digital Fundraiser, based Sandton, Gauteng.
Salary: R18 000 plus commission
Responsibilities:
• Research fundraising opportunities and write grant applications to charitable trusts, corporates and statutory bodies
• Identify opportunities, launch, evaluate and improve new digital fundraising channels and/or programs to raise funds
• Build relationships with major donors or companies and make presentations to boards and executives
• Develop digital fundraising plan and supervise implementation of each marketing activities which make alignment with entire fundraising strategies
• Manage all digital fundraising related programs for donor acquisition and retention
• Analyse data and tools and monitor performance to keep activities on track and to increase effectiveness of fundraising
• Manage information and record the profile and fundraising activity of donors on a database
• Manage their own budget and ensure that targets are met
• Account handling: ensuring major donors or companies are happy with their donation scheme (such as a charity of the year partnership) and are kept informed of progress and milestones
• Devise and organise fundraising campaigns and events
• Spot fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of the organisation’s work
• Help develop key fundraising strategies.
• Increase awareness of the Trusts’ services and fundraising through social, print media and other channels
Requirements:
• Minimum three years’ work experience in web marketing and in a similar fundraising position
• Strong computer literacy and knowledge of HTML.
• Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to take creative and innovative approaches.
• Strong interpersonal and administrative skills.
• Strong commitment to humanitarian aid work, particularly ICT learning and innovation
• Have a proven successful track record in fundraising, securing substantial and repeated income, through traditional and innovative methods
