Job Purpose
The purpose of Sci-Bono Corporate Fundraiser job is to (i) develop Sci-Bono Fundraising Framework; (ii) develop Sci-Bono Fundraising Policy; (iii) develop a detailed and comprehensive Sci-Bono Fundraising Strategy; (iv) fundraise for Sci-Bono in line with the Framework, Policy and Strategy; and (v) provide detailed and comprehensive report of all the fundraising activities including amounts fundraised and funders or donors.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Research prospective donors
• Create a strong fundraising message that appeals to potential donors
• Identify and contact potential donors
• Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy, including regular reporting on the strategy goals
and benchmarks.
• Create a partnership plan for identifying, cultivating and managing relationships and negotiations with donors and external partners for
development of multi-year programmatic initiatives.
• Ensuring resource mobilization strategy/activities are closely coordinated with external relations, operations, finance, and
communications/marketing teams.
• Direct intelligence gathering, competitive analysis and decision-making, capture, partnering and proposal development for funding
opportunities.
• Regularly report on business progress.
• Create an environment of accountability, motivation, professional growth and high productivity.


Foster effective working relationships, engagement and responsiveness of operational support functions essential for successful resource
mobilization including communications and marketing, recruitment, budgeting, and other internal operations functions.
• Lead the development, refinement, and maintenance of internal systems to support effective resource mobilization
• Ensure the quality of all new and renewal proposals developed and submitted to donors, including full responsiveness to donor
requirements and criteria.
• Maintain records of donor information for future use
• Evaluate the success of previous fundraising events
• Ensure that all legal reporting requirements are satisfied
• organising and helping with traditional fundraising activities such as sponsored or promotional events, raffles, house-to-house and street
collections
• approaching individuals, schools, universities, local authorities, shops and commercial organisations for sponsorship and donations
• developing new fundraising ideas and events

Education
Diploma or Degree in Corporate Finance and Fundraising. Qualifications in Communication, Organizational Skills, Sales and Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, Accounting and Economics, and Philanthropic Studies will be an added advantage. A Master’s Degree will also be an added advantage.

Experience
At least 5-10 years’ experience in Fundraising for medium sized to bigger companies. Work experience in an NPC (Non-Profit Company), and/or NGO (Non-Governmental organization) and/or PBO (Public Benefit Organization). Experience in Commission-Based Work.

Leadership. Many fundraisers manage large teams of volunteers and must be able to lead them without having the usual incentive of pay at their disposal.
Organizational skills. Fundraisers manage large campaigns and events that require planning and organizational skills to succeed.
