The Executive: Corporate Services will be providing legal advice and resolves legal matters for assigned responsibilities or clients; supports business objectives by rendering sound legal advice and manages legal risks to the organization. This role includes providing legal counsel to the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and other senior management.
Over and above the Legal Service the incumbent will be required to provide leadership, management of the IT, Operations and Facilities Management. The ideal candidate must be energized by working in a complex and fast-paced environment, be able to quickly understand and support business objectives with creative and strategic approaches, cultivate productive relationships with the business, all while exercising sound and ethical judgment. He or She must possess strong initiative, as well as excellent management and leadership skills and strong business acumen.

Responsibilities
Strategic Management
Participates in the formulation of the Group strategy and accountable for ensuring formulation of the departmental strategic plans policies and ensuring implementation thereof.
Manages and directs the development and implementation of company’s goals, objectives, policies and priorities for each assigned service area.
Assesses and monitors workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identifies opportunities for improvement; directs and implements changes.
Actively participates as an executive member of the organisation and management team.
Management of Business Units
Develops, implements and maintains Legal, IT, Operations and Facilities Business Unit’s goals, objectives, policies and priorities for appropriate service areas; ensures that established goals and priorities are achieved.
Plans, directs and coordinates the Legal, IT, Operations and Facilities Business Units’ work plans through appropriate division staff; assigns work activities and responsibilities to appropriate personnel; reviews and evaluates work methods and procedures; identifies and resolves problems and/or issues.
Oversees the selection, training and evaluation programs for all Legal, IT, Operations and Facilities Business Units’ personnel; establishes performance requirements and staff development goals; identifies and resolves staff deficiencies.
Ensures the risk of the Group is mitigated on a continuous basis by developing and implementing legal processes, contracts and providing day to day legal advice to of the Group.
Develops and provides legal education programs to the Board and staff; provides and coordinates staff and Board training on legal issues.
Manages and coordinates the development of the Legal, IT, Operations and Facilities Business Units’ budget; monitors and approves expenditures; advises appropriate division personnel on budget matters; makes adjustments to the budget as necessary.
Advises and guides the Group Chief Executive Officer and Board Members on the formation, development and application of policy and strategic decisions.
Develops and embeds a culture of customer focus and performance management to ensure high quality and continuous improvement in service delivery.
Ensures regular and effective communication between the Business Units across the country (Inland and Coastal offices).
Develops, continuously improves and implements the organizations approach to risk management.
Ensures a thorough awareness and understanding of LRA, Basic conditions of Employment Act and all other labour legislation.
Executes and manages change management and organizational development activities.
Develops, implements and monitors compliance with the Group B-BBEE strategy.
Ensures that offices across the country operate effectively and efficiently.
Keeps abreast of new legislation, updated legislation and case law to monitor legislative changes and advise business accordingly.
Supports Company Secretary with Secretarial duties as and when needed.
Responsible for the GPP document and overseeing implementation thereof.

Qualifications and Experience
10 - 20 years management experience at a senior level.
Admitted Attorney preferable
Specializing in Corporate Law
