Description: A manufacturer in the cosmetic industry is seeking a R&D Chemist to join their team. Duties includes but is not limited to: Create products through development stages through to scale up then to launch. Ensure stability, and compliance to global regulatory standards as well as safety. Upgrading of existing formulas. Testing of raw materials from alternative suppliers in existing formulas. Assist in nurturing and passing on of knowledge and expertise to fellow R&D team members. Supplying relevant information to the Brand team. Utilize scientific and technical knowledge to formulate best-in-class products. Interpret stability results and setting up of quality parameters. Keeps abreast on latest research regarding raw materials and technologies. Work in a team with the global brand team to develop products that meet the consumer’s needs.

Key Requirements: BSc Chemistry/Pharmaceutical or National Diploma. Coschem Diploma. 5-10 years hands on formulation experience in skin care. Experience in formulating with vitamins and high tech ingredients.

Additional Requirements: Able to work on several projects simultaneously with attention to detail and time lines. Excellent communication skills and the ability to write reports. Computer literate.

Remuneration: Market related.
